Roy Lopez, Jr.
Mr. Lopez is proud join the Centralia community as principal at Centralia Elementary School. Mr. Lopez has 18 years of service in education and prior to joining the Centralia School District he served in the Lennox School District and most recently, the Anaheim Elementary School District.
During his time in Lennox, Mr. Lopez served as a bilingual and dual language teacher. He taught first and third grades and was actively involved in leadership opportunities on campus. In the fall of 2008, Mr. Lopez earned the opportunity to serve as Lennox’s English Learner Liaison, a Teacher on Special Assignment position, and lead a district level committee in developing and implementing two programs a dual language program and the newcomer language academy. The development of these two programs are a testament to his dedication and commitment to providing quality educational opportunities and beneficial experiences for students.
In 2014, Mr. Lopez was offered the opportunity to serve as vice principal in the Anaheim Elementary School District. During his five years of service in AESD, he supported three elementary schools: Benito Juarez, Palm Lane and Betsy Ross. Mr. Lopez’s expertise and background in dual language served him well as all three schools housed dual language immersion programs.
Mr. Lopez earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Anthropology from UC Irvine as part of the millennial class of 2000. He earned his two Masters Degrees in Education from UCLA as part of the Teacher Education Program in 2002 and the Principal Leadership Institute in 2008.
